Elia Mykonos Resort was constructed in two phases. The first concerns the redesigning of the existing ground floor into six junior suites, as well as the landscape and redesigning of the outdoor space, which is in direct contact with the sandy beach. The aim was to provide as many rooms with a sea view and direct access to the beach as possible.
The second phase includes the modernization and expansion of the existing hotel building so to upgrade it to a resort. The goal of the design was the integration in the landscape, the connection of the new buildings with the existing section, the spatial cohesion, the optimal operation of the hotel, the privacy of the rooms but also to offer the best the view in all rooms and suites. The main idea was to create a common area in the center of the resort complex, where the water element dominates due to the swimming pool. Like this, rooms with no sea views offer views to the pool and the user-friendly outdoor areas that has been considered essential for the successful operation of the hotel. New reception area was designed as well as a Spa to enhance guests’ experience.
